Suicide Squad might have done great business in the box-office, but received a lot of flak from the audience. They had flocked to the theaters to watch Jared Leto’s Joker, after having read so much about him and were disappointed with how little screen space he was given.
To appease the viewers, an extended cut trailer is expected to be available from 5th December. The trailer includes scenes with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
Jared Leto has moved on from the role of Joker and is focusing on other ventures. Variety reported that Netflix is ready to buy the rights for The Outsider, which is an action-crime drama featuring Leto.
The Outsider will deal with the story of a US army deserter who goes on to join the Yakuza. The story is based in post-World War II Japan. Apart from Jared Leto, the cast will include Rory Cochrane and Tadanobu Asano. Martin Zandvliet directed it, and Andrew Baldwin worked on the screenplay.
Netflix is entering the big league with their acquisitions and is making quite a name for themselves. The deal with The Outsider isn’t finalized yet, but the network is hopeful that they will be able to work things out.
