Jared Leto’s signature man-bun, or long hair, and his beard are gone and many of his fans are heartbroken about it. But some others believe that Jared Leto is long due for a makeover since the long hair and the man-bun are already passé, notes Time.
Although his millions of fans still cannot believe and get over the fact that he decided to have a makeover because he has long been identified for his long mane and bearded face, Jared Leto decided to do it anyway in preparation for playing the role of Joker in the upcoming movie “Suicide Squad.”
“Suicide Squad” Director David Ayer posted on his Twitter account on March 2 the new look of Jared Leto minus the long hair and the beard. The American actor-singer actually looks good. David Ayer also shared a photo of Jared Leto where a scissor is about to cut his mane in his Twitter account.
One day after he cut his hair and loses his beard the Oscar winner also reposted the pictures on his Instagram account and captioned that he misses his beard already. He did not mention that he misses his beloved long locks though, notes Yahoo! Celebrity.
The picture of Jared Leto with his cut hair and beardless face shows how amazing he really looks regardless of the amount of hair in his head or in his face.
Getting ready for “Suicide Squad”
“Suicide Squad” has all the makings of a true blockbuster so it was kind of easy for Jared Leto to decide on his makeover and be ready to take on the meaty part of the Joker in the movie.
Due for release to theaters on August 5, 2016, in addition to Leto playing the Joker, “Suicide Squad” also stars Will Smith as Dead Shot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
Based on DC Comics, “Suicide Squad” is a task force of supervillains that were imprisoned by the government upon apprehension of course by the DC superheroes.
A secret government agency headed by Amanda Waller formed the task force to initiate a black ops mission in exchange for clemency.
The actor and the musician
With his new looks, people are actually reminded now of Jared Leto when he got his first recognition while playing the role of Jordan Catalano on the TV series “My So-Called Life” back in 1994.
He has had 22 film credits to his name starting with the movie “How to Make an American Quilt” back in 1995 until the “Dallas Buyers Club” in 2013 acting as a transgender where he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for it in 2014.
He only had 22 movies in the last 20 years because he is very selective with his films so the “Suicide Squad must really be good to be considered by the actor.
Jared is also the lead vocalist of the Thirty Seconds to Mars, a band he formed in 1998 with his older brother Shannon. Their debut album titled “30 Seconds to Mars” was released in 2002 and got positive reviews but only limited success. But it was the band’s second album titled “A Beautiful Lie” released in 2005 that carried the band to worldwide stardom.
