Believe it or not, J-Lo was not officially Jennifer Lopez after she married singer Marc Anthony back in January 2004.
Up until December 31, 2014, J-Lo was officially known in public documents as Jennifer Muñiz after tying the knot with Marc Anthony in 2004. The Latino singer’s official name is Marco Muñiz and that explains why the official name of J-Lo was Jennifer Muñiz because as a married wife, she had to change her surname to that of her husband’s.
But Marc Anthony is already an ex-husband to J-Lo. After separating in July 2011, Marc Anthony and J-Lo filed for divorce in April 2012, which only become official until June 2014, details TMZ.
Even after their divorce was official, J-Lo was still not able to revert back to her old name. It was only on December 31, 2014, when documents from the court were released, that she got her original name back.
The report even opined that J-Lo was certainly much better than J-Mu because the latter does not have the ring to it.
Reliving the split all over again
Meanwhile J-Lo has relive her agony of dealing with her split with former husband Marc Anthony in the HBO documentary titled “Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again,” reports the Daily Mail.
The 45-year-old Latina singer revealed that she felt that she was going to die when her seven-year marriage to Marc Anthony ended.
She insisted that she tried to make their relationship work but that it was not meant to be. J-Lo added that her woes were further confounded when the two of them officially filed for divorce.
During those times, she recalls that while she was in her dressing room and contemplating about her future, she felt like she could no longer get up in the morning, which according to her, no amount of emotional pain could match.
J-Lo said that it is bad enough that the marriage did not work but what’s even worse is going through the divorce process where they both had to relive each and every reason why they split.
Bad for the children
The split and divorce have closed the book on what she thought would be a fairy tale of a love story, a blissful union for her and Marc Anthony. But that did not happen and she felt bad for it.
Jennifer Lopez also felt bad for their twin, Max and Emme, who were barely three years old when she and Marc Anthony decided to split up.
J-Lo revealed that it was never her dream to have a broken family of her own. What she wanted was for them to stay married together. Never in her wildest imagination that she ever thought of breaking up her own family, she said.
The documentary also showed footages of her twin joining her during concert tours and how they miss their father.
The 46-year-old Marc Anthony is now married to Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima, his third marriage. They tied the knot in November 2014.
