‘iZombie’ Season 3 to See Ravi Stumbling Upon a Medical Discovery to Make Zombie Visions More Vivid and Longer Lasting!

In the American police procedural comedy-fiction drama TV series “iZombie,” zombie Olivia ‘Liv’ Moore, played by Rose McIver, heavily relies on her visions after eating the brains of deceased victims to solve murder cases with Detective Clive Babineaux, played by Malcolm Goodwin.

But the visions are sporadic and shortlived. However, those are normally enough for both Clive and Liv to apprehend the suspects or perpetrators of the crimes.

At the forensic laboratory of the police department, Liv draws support from Dr. Ravi Chakrabati, played by Rahul Kohli, who was actually the first one to find out that Liv was already a zombie since Season 1 and has been feeding her with brains of murder victims in order for her not to turn into a vicious creature.

Since Season 2, Ravi has been trying to find a cure to the zombie affliction disease suffered by Liv, Major, played by Robert Buckley, and Blaine, played by David Anders.

He was able to momentarily find a cure that turned Major and Blaine into normal people again at the end of Season 1, but it eventually wore off, thus turning them back into zombies again.

Stumbling upon a different cure

Reports have it that in Season 3 of “iZombie,” Ravi shall be able to make a medical discovery and a different kind of cure for his three friends.

Instead of finding a real cure, Ravi shall stumble upon a recipe to make zombie visions more vivid and longer lasting, reports the International Business Times.

Although it would not be a significant discovery as far as the main zombie protagonists of the show are concerned, but its inclusion into the story will probably be used as a plot device to allow the zombie characters to imbibe a particular personality from brains not just for a single episode but for two or more.

As far as the real cure for the zombie affliction is concerned, Ravi will continue to find and perfect it in Season 3, confirms showrunners Rob Thomas during the San Diego ComicCon held last month.

Incidentally, Ravi shall also be spending most of his time dealing with the love triangle among him, Blaine and Peyton, played by Ally Michalka.

It was actress Ally Michalka who confirmed during the San Diego ComicCon that the love triangle does exist and it will continue to exist in Season 3 of “iZombie.”

Teen star in ‘iZombie’

Teen star Natalie Alyn has been confirmed to become a guest star in one of the Season 3 episodes of “iZombie.”

It was actually Alyn who confirmed her participation in the TV series through an Instagram photo. Her role, however, has yet to be disclosed, cites Movie News Guide.

Incidentally, fans are getting worried about the reduction in the number of episodes of “iZombie” for Season 3.

In Season 1, the show had 13 episodes. It was raised to 19 episodes during the past second season and in the upcoming third season, it will be reduced back to 13 episodes.

However, the showrunners said that the reduction in the number of episodes for “iZombie” Season 3 should not be a cause for alarm for the viewers of the show because it was a production decision and not that of The CW.

Apparently, they could come up with more concise storylines for fewer episodes than purposely stretch it to come up with 19 episodes, the way they did during the previous season, which some viewers and critics found to be rather tedious.

“iZombie” shall reportedly move to a new direction when its third season unveils early next year.

iZombie Season 2

Showrunners Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright made the confirmation during the show’s presentation panel at the San Diego ComicCon held last month.

It could be recalled that the first season of “iZombie” built to a big final battle sequence at a butcher shop called Meat Cute while the second season built to a big final battle sequence where energy drink company Max Rager was purchased by Fillmore Graves Enterprises before a full-scale zombie outbreak took place.
