The upcoming season of “iZombie” recently added “Veronica Mars” alum Jason Dohring in the cast. The actor will portray Chase Graves, Vivian Stool’s brother-in-law.
Dohring will first appear in the season’s eighth episode titled “Eat a Knevel.” Not much is disclosed about his character nor the episode, but speculations say that Chase will be Liv’s potential new love interest.
This stems from the show’s executive producer Rob Thomas stating in an earlier interview that Liv will have a love interest in the upcoming Season 3 who will not die. Liv has not been the luckiest when it comes to the love department and the arrival of Chase might finally change that for her.
According to Movie News Guide, Chase is someone prominently close to the proprietors of Filmore Graves. Liv will reportedly be instantly attracted to Chase and the two will have a very interesting relationship in the upcoming season.
Reports suggest that Chase is also a zombie, just like Vivian is, given that Liv can only have romantic relationships with a fellow zombie.
If this is true, then it would mean that Liv and Robert Buckley’s Major won’t be reuniting anytime soon amid fans clamoring for the two to get back together now that Major is again a zombie.
Last season, it was pretty evident that Major still holds feeling for Liv. There was a moment when they were almost getting back together, but Liv pulled away since she did not want to involve Major in her messy life.
The previous season also ended with no hint whether Liv and Major will get back together and Rose McIver also said in a past interview that things between her and Major aren’t getting romantic anytime soon.
However, there are also reports saying that a love triangle will be in focus later in the season between Liv, Major, and Chase. Major will reportedly fight for Liv’s affection and Liv will be torn between the two.
Meanwhile, the third season of The CW hit will deal with Liv eating a dominatrix brain and her decision whether or not to join Vivian to make Seattle a zombie capital.
Reports say that Liv will indeed take Vivian’s offer but will use it for her own agenda, which is to save the city’s residents from becoming zombies and she will need someone from inside Vivian’s company to orchestrate the plan.
Showrunner Rob Thomas revealed that the upcoming season will feature Andrea Savage’s Vivian as the ultimate big bad, but the episodes will not be entirely about the impending zombie revolution she is organizing.
The episodes will also stick with the show’s original format of an individual case per installment. A particular episode though is when Liv will eat a dominatrix’s brain.
Reports say that this will happen during the season’s fifth episode and fans will see Liv adapting the traits of the dominatrix and starting to act in the same manner.
McIver has been generous to fans by sharing what Liv will look in her dominatrix aura on her Instagram. The 27-year-old actress also hints that Dominatrix Liv’s personality will backfire on Rahul Kohli’s Ravi.
McIver once posted a photo of Kohli being electrocuted which hints that this is her character’s doing. She also posted a video of her character stitching up Major on a surgery table.
As for Ravi, it looks like he will be busy in his lab in the upcoming season trying to find a cure for Liv. However, it looks like he will not be successful to find one.
