Major franchises are already well established and while they “borrow” features from one another all the time, it’s not that likely that the new “Star Wars: Battlefront” is going to set any new serious trends in gaming. Especially when we’re getting reports that the game will have some of its features cut or toned down.
On the other hand, some players are only interested in getting a proper cinematic experience with lots of explosions and the true feeling that they’re in a “Star Wars” film. To that end, the game could definitely deliver and even surpass expectations, because it’s obviously made on a high budget.
And for what it’s worth, DICE know how to put a lot of detail and fine polish into a title, so if they wanted to make an immersive game, they definitely could to that with the new “Battlefront”. Capitalizing on that feature could definitely work out in their favor as well, if the game has properly designed environments.
