The news about the 2016 Ford Bronco came on April 1, 2014. It was April Fool’s Day so while the news caught on and spread like wildfire in the internet, the originator of the news later on came out to say that the 2016 Ford Bronco was meant to be a joke.
Since then, subsequent reports on the 2016 Ford Bronco on various internet news and blog sites were brandished as hoax.
The thing is, Ford Motor Company never made any statement to either confirm or dispute reports that the 2016 Ford Bronco was a hoax. So everyone was actually left guessing on what the American car manufacturer was up to.
If indeed it was a joke or a hoax, Ford Motor Company would certainly not allow car enthusiasts believe and follow a pipe dream because it would be its reputation and credibility that would be at stake more than any other entity. If the 2016 Ford Bronco was a hoax, and Ford simply allowed the fake reports to perpetrate without the company doing anything about it, then the carmaker would really look bad in the eyes of the public.
A hoax could stain its reputation terribly that the backlash would be tremendous. So, from the business perspective, it would be very uncanny and illogical for Ford to keep mum about it.
A different Bronco
Looking from the other side of the fence, from the side of Ford that is, it could also be that the 2016 Ford Bronco that many were harping about is not the one based on the F-150 pickup truck, whose images came at the height of the supposedly hoax news about the vehicle.
Early this month, it was reported that the 2016 Ford Bronco may not be the SUV-type of vehicle that the newsmakers were trumpeting about. Instead, it could be a smaller crossover vehicle more to the resemblance of the Ford Escape or the Ford Edge.
However, of late, there is now a report that the 2015 edition of the Ford Troller T4 is in fact the modern Ford Bronco that a number of people were talking about, according to the website called Bronco Legend.
The Ford Troller T4 has the appearance of its closest competitors including the Cherokee Jeep, the Jeep Wrangler, the Toyota FJ Cruiser, and the Land Rover.
This is an interesting new twist on the speculations about the 2016 Ford Bronco but this report already came out last year too, when rumors about the 2016 Bronco spread and cited that it would look like an all-terrain jeep similar to the Wrangler.
In the absence of an official announcement from Ford regarding the 2016 Ford Bronco, one thing may be clear at this point, the vehicle appears to be real and forthcoming but until the American carmaker makes an official statement and showed to the whole world what the vehicle really looks like, everything remains speculation at the moment.
