Is the Asus Zenfone 2 the Android Powerhouse It’s Expected to Be? Let’s See!

There’s been a lot of talk about the Asus Zenfone 2 lately, with many people focusing on one of the most noteworthy features of the device, its 4 GB of RAM. And while other manufacturers are rumored to be catching up soon – it seems like 4 GB is going to become the standard for high-end devices in less than a year – the Zenfone 2 managed to establish a place for itself on the market as a pioneer in this area. With that in mind, does the device actually live up to expectations and deliver the kind of power people have been wishing for?

The device has been redesigned a little bit and it seems to compete quite well against other popular names on the market, and Asus have actually implemented some rather unusual solutions for its physical design. For example, the volume controls have been placed on the back of the phone, and while this might seem inconvenient at first, it reportedly actually adds a lot to the overall experience.

The display has been made larger as well, now sporting a 5.5 inch resolution, and despite the new dimensions it’s quite comfortable to use with one hand. And with a 13 megapixel camera, it should compare nicely against other devices on the market, offering a good enough media experience for the user. Of course, it shouldn’t be treated as a camera-focused phone, but it should still do the job quite nicely.

Is the device the Android powerhouse that it’s expected to be though? Comparisons against other smartphones with similar specifications seem to show that the phone is running quite smoothly and doesn’t introduce any unnecessary lag in Android. Compared to other manufacturers who have been adding more and more bloatware to their Android releases, this is a good move.

India will get the phone in about a week, on April 23 – and it will reportedly be offered in three different variants, priced according to their features. The most expensive version is reported to cost around Rs 20,000, and the phone will be offered in five color versions, namely black, silver, red, gold and white. However, strangely enough, the high-end model of the device will omit the white option from its color selection.

It will be an interesting launch for sure, as a lot of eyes are firmly fixed on the Zenfone 2 at the moment. Whether or not it manages to convince the market that it’s the new best thing in the Android world, it remains to be seen. But there is certainly strong potential in the Zenfone 2, and Asus are a well-established name in the Android market, and a company that should know how to approach this release in the best way possible.
