Is Half Life 3 Nothing More than a Dead Dream? Fans are Willing to Take Their Chances!

Half Life 3 has eluded gamers even after a decade since its last installment surfaced. This franchise has been a major turn-off for the die-hard FPS addicts, as close to 90% of the gaming franchise has been waiting intently for the next installment to surface. There have numerous instances of Valve ‘almost’ coming up with a definitive answer to the queries, but each time the gamers have been let down!

Even to this day, numerous reports suggest that the third installment might be lurking on the drawing board, ready to be revealed at a moment’s notice, although, Valve suggests that there are no such projects at hand, at the moment.

Fans of the series are disappointed with the maker’s decision to not give a proper farewell to the Half Life franchise. The series is in a state of coma at the moment as the fans are unsure whether Half Life 3 will ever see the light of day. Without the official confirmations, it has been very difficult to ascertain whether the series has come to an end, or whether the makers plan on releasing the next installment in the next decade – or two!

The worst part about the series is that, Gordon Freeman, the game’s protagonist was never put to sleep at the end of Half Life 2. He is still stuck in the hangar, watching Alyx mourn the death of her father while he is unable to act. Several gaming websites have urged gamers to stop waiting for Valve to release Half Life 3, although, this is not as easy as it sounds and only a Half Life addict will know what we are referring to here!

If any such title was indeed under production, Valve would have made it a point to come across with minor hints at the very least. However, since the makers have been indifferent towards the series so far and have clearly chosen to rubbish any report or update regarding the series, we believe that Half Life 3 is indeed out of the question, at least for a long time to come!

Valve is currently busy, working on new games on the Windows PC, Xbox and PS twins and the gamers should be quite busy with what Valve has on offer next. However, ‘just another game’ is not Half Life 3, but we are sure Valve knows what they are getting themselves into!

However, a faction of the fan base is just not ready to accept that Valve has given up on Half Life 3. They still believe that the game will arrive sometime within the first quarter of 2016. Even though this is barely a possibility, most die-hard gamers are willing to take their chances!
