According to some critics, her work on “Pitch Perfect 2” was actually mediocre at best and she didn’t deserve the huge amounts of praise that she got. Whether or not that’s true is entirely subjective we guess, but there’s no denying that many people were indeed impressed with the way she handled her tasks in the previous film.
Plus, Universal themselves seem to have recognized some potential in Elizabeth Banks, and they should definitely know their industry better than the average critic. Whether or not the new production is going to be successful is impossible to predict, but we can assume that Banks is going to put a lot of effort into it.
It probably won’t be long before we start hearing the first rumors about her work on the “Red Queen” adaptation, and in the meantime we might also get some hints about what’s happening with “Pitch Perfect 3” and who might be handling the new production instead of Elizabeth Banks. There is already lots of speculation about that.
