The second season of Blindspot is set to premiere on September 14th. The premiere episode of NBC’s Blindspot Season 2 is titled ‘In Night So Ransomed Rogue.’ The first episode is going to show how Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) runs away from the CIA after working with them for three months.
Jane is going to escape the CIA and head to FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton). The two had their issue in Season 1 of Blindspot, but Agent Kurt Weller will have to forget the past and work with Jane.
The official synopsis of Blindspot Season 2 states that once Jane escapes from the clutches of the CIA, she is captured by the team. They convince her to become a triple agent for them and work for her old terrorist organization.
While Jane starts working on the assignment, she discovers numerous secrets from the past. The betrayals that Jane face might tear her and her team apart in the upcoming season.
Martin Gero, the executive producer of Blindspot, revealed that the premiere episode of Season 2 would be exciting. The first episode will reveal Jane real identity. Even though the audience gets an idea of Jane’s identity, they will not get the whole picture when it comes to her backstory. Gero also made it clear that Jane’s past isn’t going to be the focus for Season 2.
The mystery behind who Jane is, and what connection she shares with the people around her is going to be the point of interest in the story. The whole of Season 2 is going to deal with this aspect. With Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) killed by Oscar (François Arnaud) Season 1; Season 2 of Blindspot is going to focus on the after-effects of the crime.
Gero revealed that Blindspot Season 2 is going to introduce a new villain. Nas Kamal, played by Archie Punjabi, is going to be the nemesis in the second season. Apart from Archie Punjabi, Season 2 will see Luke Mitchell and Michelle Hurd coming in.
Nas Kamal is the head of the National Security Agency, and they will try and help the team with things following the events from Season 1. Nas Kamal will lock horns with Patterson (Ashley Johnson). Patterson will not approve of the head of NSA and things are set to be uncomfortable.
Patterson wants to have access to the computing power of NSA, and she gets frustrated because she doesn’t have all the information because of the limited access to the database. The NSA has all the information, but they have refused to share them with the intelligence agencies.
There hasn’t been any official confirmation on the news that Archie Punjabi is going to be the villain for the upcoming season. Even Punjabi has been tight-lipped about her role in Blindspot Season 2. Since Punjabi is guarding the secret of her character so intensely, fans feel that she is the villain for Blindspot Season 2.
Chatt Sports Net reported that Nas has been investigating Jane and she is going to try everything to make Jane reveal information. One of the photos that NBC has released shows Nas and Jane sitting face to face. The caption of the photo makes it clear that Nas Kamal is out to get answers, and she is going to get them.
According to Bit Bag, the team will find out Jane Doe’s real identity. The first season introduced Jane as a beautiful woman. She was found naked in the middle of Times Square. Jane didn’t have any memory of her past.
