We know that “Iron Man 4” is going to become reality one day, and the film is already in early stages of its production. However, there appear to be some small quirks for the producers to work out before they can truly get going, and one of the most important details right now is apparently the compensation of Robert Downey Jr., who has reportedly asked for a raise in his salary if he is to perform in the new film.
That is apparently close to being sorted out now though, according to the latest reports, and the actor has been aiming to secure an increase of $50 million over his previous compensation. Apparently, Marvel have been open to the idea, given the profits of the last film in the series which earned well over $1 billion across the world.
The studio would definitely be smart to give this raise to the actor if they are planning something even bigger for “Iron Man 4”, and they already know what he’s capable of and how many fans are actively following his performance, so it should be absolutely no issue for them to consider it a winning move. Of course, the new film must also be produced with enough effort to ensure that it will surpass the profitability of the last installment in the series.
We have no doubts that Marvel are going to handle that properly though, especially when they already know that the franchise has such a massive following and the they are sure that the new film is going to see much more success than the last one if they play their cards right. They won’t need to put a lot of work into its marketing to get things going smoothly, as a lot of people are already paying close attention to the production of “Iron Man 4”.
It’s worth noting that Robert Downey Jr. is currently reported as one of the top paid actors in the entire world, and he’s been holding that title for several years now. Reports claim that he earned $80 million alone for just his performance in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. There, he has apparently managed to secure a good deal for sharing the profits of the new film, and he’s been able to get quite a lot more than he would have without that deal.
It’s also a bit curious to see that a few Bollywood actors have found their way to that list, although it’s not really that surprising in the end once one considers the immense popularity of this part of cinema in its own respective area of the world. Bollywood films might have a niche following, but that’s a really huge niche with a lot of people and it’s clear why so many producers have been paying close attention to that scene lately.
But back to “Iron Man 4”, the film is shaping up to be a really good entry into the franchise so far, with everything that we’ve heard about it. We’re apparently going to see an interesting, dramatic development of the plot that might surprise some fans.
