While Robert Downey Jr. and some people close to him have pretty much hinted that he will still be donning the Iron Man suit and reprising the role of Tony Stark if and when Marvel proceeds with “Iron Man 4,” that seems quite distant for now.
Latest words have it that “Iron Man 4” will likely come out around the phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which would likely happen after “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” to be released on theaters in 2019. So that is way too far off to even think and speak about it for now.
However, what is drawing the excitement of Marvel fans these days is the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” which will hit theaters on May 6, 2016, which is barely nine months down the road.
While the movie is definitely about Captain America and Steve Rogers, and of course Chris Evans, Marvel fans are actually filled with excitement over the prospect of Captain America and Iron Man going head-to-head in the movie, which shall become one, if not the film’s best highlight.
Dividing the Avengers
Apparently, the Marvel’s Avengers would be divided on the issue of the Superhero Registration Act. Tony Stark is all open to the idea of superheroes disclosing their identities in public, the way he as Iron Man is doing while Steve Rogers is opposed to the idea.
Heroic Hollywood has just came out with a report by its founder Umberto Gonzalez, who is a Marvel fanatic, that the Avengers will actually be divided in “Captain America: Civil War,” six members for Captain America and only five members for Iron Man.
Team Captain America shall be composed of Captain America, of course, Hawkeye, Falcon. Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, and The Winter Soldier, while Team Iron Man will be made up of Iron Man, The Vision, Spider-Man, Black Widow, and War Machine.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already confirmed that the Black Panther will be neutral on the issue. It is also noticeable that The Hulk and Thor are not included in the movie.
From the looks of it, Team Iron Man has the seeming advantage but it would be interesting to see how it all goes down in the movie. Considering, however, that it is Captain America’s film, the chances of his team winning over the other is likely.
‘Iron Man 4’ is going to happen
“Iron Man 3” Director Shane Black believes that “Iron Man 4” is going to happen and it is likely that Robert Downey Jr. would reprise his role as Tony Stark and the man in the iron suit.
In a recent interview, Black was quoted as saying that Robert Downey Jr. would be back for another “Iron Man” movie and that he was quite sure of it.
The confirmation from the “Iron Man 3” director comes amid reports that a younger actor who was reported to be Ty Simpkins will replace Robert Downey Jr. as the main protagonist for “Iron Man 4.”
Ty Simpkins played the role of Harley Keener in “Iron Man 3” and there were previous reports from as early as late last year that his character will take over the iron suit from Tony Stark, who will be retiring from his superhero work, or so the previous speculations say.
But according to recent reports, “Iron Man 4” will likely be released by Marvel Studios come the phase 3 of the MCU which is around 2019 or after the showing of the second part of “Avengers: Infinity War.”
There were also reports that Marvel and Robert Downey Jr. were on a stalemate negotiations after the actor asked for an increase in his talent fee of $50 million, which is the amount he got for “Iron Man 3.”

I really want Robert Downey jr. to reprise his role as Iron Man/Tony Stark for Iron Man 4, the last Iron Man movie. Iron Man 4 should have the REAL Mandarin as the villain of the movie. I also want to see the Ten Rings return in Iron Man 4. I want to see Iron Man killing the Ten Rings and battling the REAL Mandarin in Iron Man 4. I want Fin Fang Foom to be the secondary villain of Iron Man 4. Fin Fang Foom should be the real Mandarin’s evil sidekick. I do NOT want to Harley Keener in this film. I want Happy Hogan or Pepper Potts to be killed off in Iron Man 4.
