Irina Shayk: Spotted In a Low Key Ensemble, Creates Controversy with a Tattoo Dedicated To Her Grandmother!

Irina Shayk is used to constantly being the focus of the media, no matter where she is. Be it holidaying with herself in Chile, or attending a football match with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. or walking down a run-way or modelling for a new assignment in a sunny beach.

Shayk is known for her killer looks and her skimpy clothes. The model girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted a few days back in New York City, making heads turn even though she was wrapped in winter clothes.

Irina was spotted near her home in New York City, running errands on a cold December morning. She looked like any other normal New Yorker, but if looks could kill, Irina Shayk would have been the cause of death of numerous passersby.

She was spotted with no make-up, wearing black leggings, matching knee length boots and a warm green parka. The green coat had a detachable faux fur trim, which she pulled over her head to keep herself snug and warm. She was also seen carrying a stylish handbag.

With Irina Shayk wearing the latest fashion trend for the season, there has been a rush in the purchase of fur trimmed parkas.

Irina Shayk has made a name for herself in the modelling world since making her debut in Intimissimi in 2007. Irina is the first Russian who has appeared in the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2011. The 28 year old model has already forayed into Hollywood with her debut film Hercules.

Irina Shayk recently stirred a huge controversy with her new tattoo. She made a video of the tattoo she got, to commemorate her late grandmother, who passed away in December 2013. She has previously talked about her grandmother and said that she owes a lot to her.

Irina’s grandmother was a strong force in her life and had brought her up in her childhood. In her loving memory, Irina got a tattoo below her ankle- her grandmother’s name in the native Cyrilic script.

The video related to the tattoo, where she explains the reason for her getting it has not gone down too well with some people. Irina’s grandmother was a trained spy for the Soviet Union during the Second World War and she was supposedly very good at it.

The Red Army was a notorious group of spies created by Stalin and were known for mass murder and extreme brutality. The fact that Irina was publicly praising her grandmother, Galina, for joining the force at the age of 19 years and seeing it as an act of great patriotism, brought in a large amount of flak against the super-model.
