There’s confirmation on the release date of Injustice 2. The Warner Bros. PR confirmed that the game would release on PS4 and Xbox One on 16th May. Even The NetherRealm Studios confirmed that date for the upcoming video game.
Fans started wondering about the release date of Injustice 2 after Ed Boon, the Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios posted a cryptic message on Twitter. The tweet had alphanumeric characters and contained a date.
Speculations suggested that Boon had shared the date for Injustice 2, but then everyone wanted to be sure. Now with the release dates confirmed, fans are looking for Injustice 2 trailers and VG247 reported that both the official Twitter handles of DC Comics and Injustice 2 would start rolling out the trailers soon.
The official pages are expected to release snippets of what the fans can expect from the much-anticipated game. The official Twitter accounts uploaded two short GIFs, which provides clues for the storyline. Officials claim that the fans can expect some more information on 17th January.
The first GIF contains a tagline ‘The Lines Are Redrawn’ and shows Superman mourning a dead person. University Herald reported that the individual in Superman’s arm could be Lois Lane. The character seems to be wearing a wedding gown, and this might mean a problem.
If something bad were to happen to Lois Lane, then it would spell doom for those responsible for Lois’s death. This clue has opened up new perspectives for Injustice 2 and fans will have to wait and find out if they turn out to be true in the game.
The other GIF shows Wonder Woman and Supergirl. There isn’t much clarity in the GIF and fans were left wondering what they might hint.
According to Christian Times, PlayStation announced that they would take to Twitter to make a major reveal for Injustice 2. They informed that interested players would also get to view the same on the PlayStation Blog.
The reveal will be so exciting that it will give tough competition to upcoming PlayStation 4 and PS Vita games liked Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, 2064: Read Only Memories and Atelier Shallie Plus.
The Twitter post that PlayStation shared to announce the big reveal also contains a video. The video shows Supergirl looking around her surrounding, after what seems like a major battle.
Reports suggest that the big reveal might be an official promo and not a trailer of the gameplay since the nitty-gritties of the game haven’t been revealed yet. The video of Supergirl has started speculations that she might be the villain in Injustice 2.
iTech Post reported that PlayStation leaked out a valuable information in their pre-order sales post. The screen shows Darkseid as a pre-order bonus character, which means that he will be a part of Injustice 2 as a villain.
PlayStation was quick to withdraw the announcement, and they have since then not made any comments on Darkseid’s presence in the upcoming game. Darkseid is one of the darkest villains in the DC Comic universe, and he wasn’t initially part of the Injustice 2 superhero and villain roster.
Darkseid’s inclusion in the pre-order bonus refers to the fact that the character was slotted for a place on the roster. However, the notice has been removed, and PlayStation and DC Comics has been quiet about it, which might also indicate that it was an honest mistake, and Darkseid wasn’t meant to be a part of Injustice 2.
