Indiana Jones might be one of the most popular movie franchises in history and many fans thought it was all over with the first four. According to news reports, that is not the case as rumor sites start to talk about a fifth movie in the series. Indiana Jones 5 could be coming to a theater near you and it looks like there could be a brand new face to the franchise. The rumors have been floating around Hollywood for a while now and have yet to be confirmed by Disney.
The rights to the Indiana Jones franchise were purchased by Disney back in 2008 and that pretty much started the rumor mill in terms of talks about a fifth movie in the series. The question was whether the studio was going to replace Harrison Ford with a younger face. That is where the rumors sites are stuck right now. According to one source, Indiana Jones 5 could see a brand new, younger face as the leading man.
Plans for the fifth installment to the series are still in the early stages, but if any of the online sources are right, the new face could be Chris Pratt. If that name sounds familiar, it would be because he starred in Parks and Recreation, is going to be in the new Jurassic Park film and was recently in the wildly popular “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Chris Pratt has gained quite the following and is going to be a busy actor in the coming months.
When a superstar is born, they are likely only doing one thing and that is make blockbuster movies. Chris Pratt is doing just that and as soon as the rumors are confirmed, Indiana Jones 5 will be the third major movie he will be working on this year. He will also be in the new Jurassic Park movie coming this summer and has reportedly been working on The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington.
The first Indiana Jones movie was released back in 1981 and was an immediate hit. George Lucas perfectly combined the one-liners of Harrison Ford and the action that everyone wanted to see at the time. The last movie in the series was called “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and it was released back in 2008. If the latest movie hits the screen, it will be the first without Ford, but as of right now, Disney Films has not confirmed any of the rumors about the movie.
