While the next Apple iPad line will come out in October, or still more than three months away, Indian online shopping website Paytm is now offering a great deal on the Apple iPad Air 2, along with current flagship devices including the iPhone 6, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the OnePlus One, the Amazon Kindle Voyage e-reader, and the Gear4 StreetParty wireless portable speaker, details NDTV Gadgets.
Paytm is offering the 64GB version of the Apple iPad Air 2, both for its WiFi and Cellular variants, for as low as $710, which is a significant reduction from the tablet’s prevailing market prices from $788 to $820, or a maximum of $120 discount.
As the latest flagship tablet of the American tech giant, the iPad Air 2 shall be able to support all the features that will come with the upcoming Apple mobile operating system, the iOS 9, so the tablet will surely be good for a couple more years despite the impending arrival of the Apple iPad Air 3 and the rumored iPad Pro this October.
The Apple iPad Air 2 sports a 9.7-inch touchscreen display and comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front snapper. It also comes with a cellular variant so users can stay connected even without a Wi-Fi network around. The Paytm offer on the Apple iPad Air 2 also comes with a full one-year manufacturer warranty.
Slim and fast
The Apple iPad Air 2 is easily one of the slimmest tablets on the market today with its 6.1-millimeter thickness, notes Tech Radar.
It feels like a very solid tablet that can be held easily for hours without the user getting uncomfortable doing so. It is also very light in weight just like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
When the iPad Air 2 was launched by Apple on October 16, 2014, it came alongside the iPad mini 3. Both tablets were released to the markets six days later.
Upon its release, the iPad Air 2 is thinner and faster than its predecessor, the iPad Air, although its design, height, and screen size are the same as those of the latter. It inherited the hardware that is similar to those which are now found on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which were launched one month ahead.
The iPad Air 2 is being powered by the Apple A8X processor, which is the high-end three-core variant of the Apple A8. Its PowerVR GPU has eight cores. It has a 2GB of RAM, making it the first iOS device to have more than 1GB or RAM.
First to use Touch ID sensor
The tablet also uses the Apple M8 motion co-processor that sports a barometer and is the first generation of the iPad to feature the fingerprint Touch ID sensor from the iPhone.
The Apple iPad Air 2 also features an improved eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3264 x 2448-pixel resolution and 10 frames per second burst mode. It also has a slow motion video of 12 fps similar to the capabilities of the iPhone 5S camera.
