Huawei Mate 9 Likely Coming at IFA 2016 with a Dual-Camera Configuration!

It would also be interesting to see if Huawei have had to make any changes to Android to accommodate for their special camera setup, or if the operating system can already account for that automatically. Android has evolved a lot over the years, and it can support some pretty interesting hardware configurations nowadays.

If it turns out that Huawei didn’t have to do much to get the dual camera running on the Mate 9, they could start a new trend among other manufacturers, and it shouldn’t take long to see dual-camera devices all over the market.

The only potential problem with this is the price, as an extra high-quality camera will obviously add something to the price tag of the device. As long as it’s kept within reasonable bounds though, and if the rest of the hardware corresponds to the asking price, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

On that note, we’re hoping that Huawei haven’t had to make any sacrifices in the hardware of the device elsewhere in order to compensate for the extra camera. It won’t take too long for that to become obvious, and it would be a huge blow to the popularity of the device, and the reputation of the company in general. This “small” detail could easily turn this from a winning release into a disaster, so hopefully we are not going to see anything of that sort.
