The rumors regarding the upcoming Huawei Ascend P8 has been making rounds on the Internet already. Huawei has built a lot of devices with a thin body that is wrapped around complete metal chassis. Recent talks indicate that the P8 will feature the same. Further rumors indicate that the upcoming flagship from the Honor 6 Plus maker will feature a 5.2 inch Full-HD display.
Under the hood, it will run on the HiSilicon Kirin 930 chipset that is based on the TSMC’s latest 16nm process. It will run on 3GB of RAM along with a 32 GB internal storage capacity. According to PhoneArena, Huawei will also include a fingerprint reader, similar to the Mate 7 model.
Earlier, we have seen Huawei launching a lot of phones, but the Ascend series have always been special for this manufacturer. The 2015 flagship device from Huawei will feature an Aluminum case. The device will be released in the first half of 2015 and will come with aluminum housing for added finesse and built quality.
Earlier, we saw the Huawei Ascend P6 and P7 play around with glass and aluminum chassis. We’ll just have to wait and see what the developers do next. In the meantime, Pocketnow.com reported that it is not clear whether the entire device will be made from Aluminum. It is possible that Huawei keeps experimenting with other materials like sapphire, ceramic and (hopefully not) glass.
There are several leaked pictures posted by nowhereelse.fr which shows an ultra-thin metallic chassis. The definite measurement of this device is presently unknown due to the lack of any official announcement. However, taking a look at the curved holes, one can expect a single-LED flash in the Huawei Ascend P8. The phone will come with two different slot trays. One of the trays will be the primary SIM holder while the other is designed for a secondary SIM or a microSD expandable card slot.
Critics are expecting a full-metal body for the Huawei Ascend P8. Huawei Ascend P7 had the problem of sliding on several surfaces due to its glass body finish. Thankfully, it seems that P8 will be an improvement over that. Recent rumors are all mentioning the presence of a metal body.
It all started with a report from GSMArena.com claiming an aluminum frame for this upcoming flagship. According to price predictions, the latest flagship from Huawei will be priced around the $500 mark, a little lesser than the latest flagship devices of 2015. It needs to be noted that Huawei already has quite a few premium devices in their Honor series. The latest model includes a dual-camera and awesome technical facilities.
Huawei hasn’t issued any official statements on the Ascend P8 or whether it’s going to be showcased in CES 2015. Stay tuned for further updates on Huawei Ascend P8!
