They have all the ingredients for success, really – but they can easily mess up that situation with an improper approach to the market, something which we’ve seen that no company is protected against. We don’t know what their plans are for the next few months, but even if they aren’t planning to make the One M9+ immediately available globally, hopefully they are at least planning something else to satisfy their fans.
It doesn’t have to be a new phone in the One line, judging by the discussions currently surrounding the company on messaging boards – people just want to see a new solid HTC device in general.
But there’s about a week until we know what their plans are in the more immediate term, so HTC’s fans should keep an eye out for that official announcement and make their own decisions after they’ve seen the full picture.
It might turn out that HTC are planning a surprise that will shock everyone and release something that will send shockwaves through the market. They already did it once with the One M8, it’s possible that they still have a few aces up their sleeve that they’ve managed to keep a secret from the sneaky eye of spies and industry leakers. We will know for sure what they’ve been cooking up quite soon.
