HTC One M9: Is the Flagship Worth Buying at This Point, or Should Fans Wait for the Next One? Let’s See

Because in the end, the One M9 is not a weak device itself and it’s actually quite the capable phone in objective terms, it’s just that it didn’t manage to shake the Android market as much as the One M8 did. But does that make it a bad phone in general?

Most definitely not – in fact, people who don’t make these comparisons have been reportedly quite happy with the performance of the M9 and the features that it offers for its price, so it looks like HTC haven’t done such a bad job after all.

However, it’s also noticeable that the company’s popularity has declined slightly after the release of the M9, and this is probably explained by the anticipation people had for the phone and the subsequent disappointment once they saw what it actually had to offer.

Maybe HTC are planning a proper return to their “throne” with the next flagship that they are going to release – whenever that might arrive to the market. But until then, people looking for a capable Android smartphone with lots of features and an adequate price should definitely not ignore the One M9, as the phone has a lot to offer to this market segment and it’s not something to overlook. As long as one doesn’t expect it to be the next miracle phone, it should be a worthy purchase.

  1. I have been a fan of HTC since rejecting my first i-phone as a buggy walled garden and convertint to Android in 2008.

HTC Phones were the best Androids on the market, although not quite reaching the pocket candy effect of an i-phone.

Then in 2013 came the M7, boy did it come with loads of spunk! I was hooked, the M8, well everyone made a noise about it, yes it had the same quality build and feel, but I was still joined at the hip to my M7.

So I just upgraded to the M9. I’ve heard it gets hot, well, I’m no gamer, but it works fine in the Sauna. The camera with its new firmware upgrades means I don’t need to carry my GF4 and the software is slick.

But now I hear about the M10 or 02, darn, waterproof, dust proof, mini bomb proof, 4 Gigs of Ram (double that of my first PC in 96) and 128 Gig drive (err multiples of my first PC) I wannit in my pocket now!

Don’t get me wrong, I still try the i-phone, it’s OK, but not a patch on the M7 or M8 on build quality. The S6, well I’m an old fashioned kinda guy, “phone of glass” sounds like a Blondie song. For that kind of money, I want a full metal jacket!

  2. I had the m8..now a samsung s6 edge…believe me, the s6 is nothing compared to last years m8 in terms of smootheness, battery lfe and software refinement. .. .
