HTC One M9 Has a Good-Performing Camera But Not in Any Situation

HTC One M9, the latest flagship smartphone of Taiwanese tech company, is proving to be capable of holding its own against the latest flagship handsets from other smartphone makers.

Aside from its excellent design and quality, the features and specifications of the HTC One M9 can surely give the pricey flagships of today a good run for their money.

Typical with most of the flagships today, most of the users’ feedback and reviews on the latest HTC flagship smartphone has something to do with its battery life. In addition, the HTC One M9 falls a tad short again when it comes to its camera.

The company has thrown in a lot of effort to change the reputation of the camera on its smartphones using various devices to highlight its prowess, and the result is now in the HTC One M9.

Not ideal in all situations

The HTC One M9 features a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is actually a good performer in most shooting situation. However, it is still not the type of smartphone camera one needs on certain situation when there is not much lighting because users should be expecting a rather grainy output.

However, HTC has come up with a way to improve the performance of its camera further by making adjustments on the Settings menu through an over-the-air update or patch to be able to shoot better photos, notes Android Authority.

But given the amount of money spent on the flagship smartphone, most users believe that improvements on the camera should not be through a mere patch or update but built in already to HTC One M9 out of the box.

Responsive to criticism

HTC has been very concerned on the criticisms about the camera of its latest flagship smartphone. Thus, the company promised to do something about it.

Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC America, disclosed that a software update will be rolled out to HTC One M9 a little over a week ago to fix the camera issues of its latest handset.

The software update will be initially released to HTC One M9 smartphones in the US but it is likely that the firmware upgrade would eventually make it to the handsets in other countries.

When it was launched last year, the HTC One M8 was regarded as a complete package but its only drawback was its average camera. Apparently, the HTC One M9 went through the same development too. It underwent a major upgrading but somehow forgot to improve the camera.

The HTC One M9 features the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and has the distinctive top-and-tail stereo front speakers that deliver superb sound quality for a smartphone, due to its BoomSound. The device also supports Dolby Audio too.

The battery life of the HTC One M9 is similar to the HTC One M8 although it drains rather quickly if users browse the web.
