HTC One M8 Vs. HTC One M9: What Is Better In The New Version?

HTC One M9 is rumoured to be the next big thing in the Android phone market. Speculated to be launched in March 2015, there is much anticipation that it will take HTC’s market share to a new height. There has been no official confirmation about the launch date of HTC One M9, but insiders feel that if the company keeps up with the same schedule as HTC One M8, then early 2015 is the likely time frame.

There have been many reviews about the HTC One M8, and it has created a huge impact among users. It has helped HTC to boost their image and get a huge share of the market. Design:

HTC One M8, weighing 160gms has the dimensions of 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm.

HTC One M9 is expected to be a little bigger than M8 as it will have a larger screen.

Display:

HTC One M8 has a super LCD3 capacitive 5-inch touch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441 ppi pixel density.

The HTC One M9 is going to feature a 5.2-inch screen with increased resolution of 2560 x 1440p and a pixel density of 534 ppi. This is a welcome improvement.

Camera:

HTC One M8 has a dual 4 MP primary camera, with autofocus and dual-LED flash and a secondary camera of 5MP. It did upgrade to HTC One M8 Eye with 13MP camera.

HTC One M9 will come with the 13MP primary camera. The camera will have an upgraded optical image stabilization system.

HTC’s camera standard has been below market expectation, so it is hoped that they improve on it with M9.

Hardware:

HTC One M8 draws power from a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor. It has 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory variants. It can be expanded to 128 GB. Runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2, upgradable to 4.4.3 and has a 2 GB RAM.

It is being speculated that HTC will use Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU in M9. It is also likely to boast of a 3GB RAM. It will run on Android Lollipop 5.0. It will have three variants- 16, 32, 64 GB internal storage models, expandable to 128GB. Some rumours also have it that HTC One M9 might even use Snapdragon 810 Octa-core CPU.

Battery:

HTC One M8 has a non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery that gives it a battery life of 21 hours.

The HTC One M9’s battery will be updated to 3200 mAh capacity for an extended battery life.

  1. I’m hoping the screen and boom sound speakers look something similiar to the nexus 9 tablet.
