HTC is giving the public a hard time trying to figure out when its latest flagship device will come out. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has kept mum on when the HTC One M10 will become available in the market.
iDigitalTimes notes that the handset will be launched early next year, specifically between March or April, just in time for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 where latest flagship smartphones are typically showcased.
However, some reports claim that HTC is going to surprise its ardent users by launching the device before the end of the year. As per Latino Post, the Taiwanese tech giant might release their latest flagship phone in December.
Also, a certain leak from Chinese website MyDrivers claims that the HTC One M10 may be launched as the HTC 02. It is important to note that no official word from HTC has been given out yet so all these rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt.
On the other hand, most tech enthusiasts believe that the early 2016 release is a far more plausible idea than the December release date.
Given that HTC One M10’s predecessor, the HTC One M9, was just released last April and HTC hasn’t given out the official specifications and details about its next-generation flagship smartphone, a December 2015 release could be ruled out.
Aside from that, the company just released another handset on October 20. The One A9, which could definitely pass up for an iPhone 6S sibling, is a mid-range phone that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The device is now being sold alongside the HTC One M9 in markets.
Previous models of the One series have always been announced during the month of March and is sold a few days after or one month later. It looks like HTC is set to follow the pattern with its latest flagship smartphone.
Latinos Post states that the Taiwanese tech company is trying to bounce back from the lukewarm reception that its current flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, received.
The HTC One M9 has been branded an impressive device although it didn’t appeal much to users as it didn’t show much improvement compared to its predecessor, the HTC One M8, hence its low sales performance.
The HTC One M9 was also criticized for its average battery life, less than satisfactory sound quality because of the speakers, and its average overall performance. Some reviews, in fact, noted that the HTC One M8 does a better job in terms of functionality compared to the HTC One M9.
The current generation flagship phone is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, a full-HD AMOLED display. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC’s Sense 7 user interface and software suite and many more. An Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will soon be available for the device.
It looks like the reason the Taiwanese tech giant is keeping details of the HTC One M10 all to themselves is because they are getting ready to continue the One series and restore its image by releasing a smartphone that will be both competitive and convenient for users, Christian Post reports.
HTC is doing some hard work to make the HTC One M10 a cut above the rest and a far cry from the disappointment users felt when they got their hands on the HTC One M9.
It looks like the only way to end the ongoing debate whether the device will make its way to the market by the end of the year or early next year is to wait for HTC to make an official announcement.
Speculations regarding the latest flagship device have been constantly making rounds. As per Alphr, the HTC One M10 will come sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3.XGHz octa-core HMP cyclone technology, the same chip rumored to be used for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.
