A lot is rumored to be going on behind the doors of HTC, as the company is preparing another major release to the market as an attempt at regaining the glory that the One M8 gave them. We don’t really know any official details about the release yet, but it’s claimed that the HTC One M10 is going to be a fantastic flagship with a lot to offer to Android users looking for a really powerful device.
HTC have actually been in a peculiar state for some time now, after the release of the One M9 didn’t quite live up to the expectations of their fans. The predecessor of the phone, the One M8, went down in history as one if the best devices on the Android market and a true powerhouse in its class. Because of this, many people apparently expected something similar from the M9, but the phone didn’t quite manage to live up to that anticipation.
Some voices of reason were quick to point out that the phone was actually pretty good by itself, it was just in a bad market position due to being constantly compared to the One M8, and this ended up affecting it badly.
And now, according to the rumors that are going around, HTC apparently want to enjoy the same performance on the market like the One M8 had, so they’ve once again stepped up their efforts in the hardware department. With that in mind, the phone could actually be quite a lot more powerful than the main offers on the Android market right now, and combined with the preexisting reputation that HTC have for their powerful devices, this could turn out to be a very beneficial move for them.
Previously, it was rumored that HTC are looking at the middle of 2016 for a possible release of the device, but now it’s being claimed that they want to bring it out even sooner, and have been trying to get it out on the market by February. We don’t know if this is true or not, although it would certainly make sense if they want to bring themselves back into the spotlight. Making the release as soon as possible should definitely be beneficial to the company with regards to their position on the market.
There are also rumors that the One M10 won’t actually be the only release by HTC for this period, and we might actually see a smartwatch by them accompanying the release of the phone. It’s also rumored that the two releases could even be related, with features in one device to make it specifically work better with the other, but this is mostly the product of speculation right now.
Some of the rumors about the device’s specifications also paint an interesting picture for it, as it seems like the One M10 could come with hardware that rivals some of the best phones on the market right now. Among the more interesting claims, we’ve heard that the phone could have a 4K screen and lots of memory, as well as a very powerful processor.
For anyone who remembers the One M8, there should be nothing surprising in those rumors, and this is actually what many fans of the company expect them to do at this point.
