HTC One E8:
The HTC One E8 measures 146.4 x 70.7 x 9.9 mm and weighs around 145 grams. The device features a 5.0-inch Super LCD3 capacitive display with 16M color definition, 441 ppi density and 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution. The smartphone features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for maximum protection along with HTC Sense 6 UI.
The One E8 is available in a 16 GB variant with 2 GB of RAM and is expandable up to 128 GB via a MicroSD card. It runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat and draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
The HTC One E8 features a 13 MP primary camera with 4,128 x 3,096 pixel resolution with autofocus and LED flash along with Geo-tagging, face/smile detection, HDR, panorama and touch focus. 1,080p video recording is possible @30 fps. This device also boasts of a 5 MP secondary camera.
However, considering its $480 price tag, the device is bang for the buck. The HTC One E8 sports a non-removable 2,600 mAh Li-Po battery.
Samsung Galaxy Core:
The Samsung Galaxy Core measures 129.3 x 67.6 x 9 mm and weighs around 124 grams. It boasts of a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 217 ppi density and 16 M color definition.
The device features 8 GB of built-in storage along with 1 GB of RAM and is expandable up to 64 GB via a MicroSD card. The Galaxy Core runs on Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean and draws power from a Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and Adreno 203 GPU. The HTC is much superior to this device, although, Samsung released their smartphone back in June 2013.
The device sports a humiliating 5 MP primary camera with 2,592 x 1,944 pixel resolution along with Geo-tagging, face and smile detection and touch focus. It is capable of filming 480p videos @30fps, although, the secondary VGA camera is practically unusable.
The device is priced at $350 and draws power from a 1,800 mAh Li-Ion battery.
When pitched against the latest HTC One E8, the Samsung Galaxy Core fails miserably. However, people still want to opt for the Korean brand due to reliability and the associated brand value. Take your pick wisely!
