Taiwanese tech company HTC will be unveiling its next flagship smartphone one day before the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 to be held in Barcelona, Spain on March 2 to 5.
HTC has already sent out invitations for a pre-MWC 2015 event in Barcelona which it referred to as “Utopia in Progress” where the company is set to unveil the HTC One M9, its next flagship smartphone, reports NDTV Gadgets.
Over the past couple of weeks, the upcoming HTC flagship smartphone has become the subject of widespread leaks and rumors on the internet, which say a lot actually about the excitement of users, fans, and the tech industry as a whole to the Taiwanese company’s latest smartphone offering.
While initial leaks have hinted that HTC will be naming its upcoming flagship smartphone as HTC One (M9), it has become clear that it will be officially called HTC One M9 consistent with its predecessors, the HTC One M7 and the HTC One M8.
The official name was actually put up in a Canadian website before it was subsequently pulled down, perhaps in an effort to contain the widespread leaks about the mobile device.
Specifications and features
There are just too many leaks already about the specifications and features of the HTC One M9 that it is just a matter for online users to reconcile all the facts and come up with the consistent information from all of them to know which of them are accurate and which are not.
Among these almost confirmed specifications and features of the HTC One M9 are its 5-inch IPS display and full HD resolution similar to HTC One M8, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, a 4-megapixel front-facing camera supported by HTC’s Ultrapixel technology.
The device shall be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, a 3GB of RAM, and an Andreno 430 GPU. It will also come in 32GB or 64GB built-in storage variants and upon rollout shall have the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on its as mobile operating system, along with a Sense 7.0 universal interface on it.
It is also believed to have a microSD card support, BoomSound speakers, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2,840mAH lithium battery.
Different variants
Latest leaks on the HTC One M9 also reveal that the flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese tech company shall come in three different variants, namely, the UHL, the WHL, and the WL, which would basically determine which part of the world they will be distributed and which carriers will be distributing them basically, particularly in the US.
The leaks also disclosed various accessories that will be made available with the HTC One M9 smartphone including the HTC Dotview 2, a clear case, a stand case, a waterproof case, a waterproof headset, a headset, an HTC BoomBass with Wi-Fi support, and screen protector.
