‘House of Cards’ Season 5 New Showrunners Promise to Kick Up a Storm for the Possible Final Year of the TV Series!

Executive producer Beau Willimon of the American political drama TV series “House of Cards” on Netflix departed the show after the Season 4 finale.

He was eventually replaced by newbies Melissa James Gibson, Frank Pugliese, and Michael Dobbs. While the three know that they have a big shoe to fill in because of the excellent handling of Willimon of the TV series over the last four seasons, they are planning to do something big for the Season 5 of the TV series.

In a recent interview, Gibson and Pugliese promised that Season 5 of “House of Cards” will be kicking up a storm as they also intend to create havoc in the storylines as well as the main characters of the TV series.

The speculations are rife that Season 5 of “House of Cards” could be the last for the TV show and it would feature the death of Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, and the eventual assumption to the presidency of Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright, notes Movie News Guide.

Possible cause of Frank’s rumored death

Subsequently, the rumors begin swirling about the possible cause of the death of Frank. There were reports saying that his loyal ally in Doug Stamper, played by Michael Kelly, shall kill his boss and there are also reports saying that Frank will fall ill that shall cause his demise.

In addition, there are also speculations saying that Claire will be plotting the murder of her husband so that she will assume the Presidency. During Season 4 of “House of Cards,” Claire was elected as Vice President of the United States, much to the chagrin of her husband.

In fact, the rumors are saying that the Vice President is going to use her aide Leann Harvey, played by Neve Campbell, and her affair with Doug as her tramp card to get what she wants which indicate that Stamper may end the misery of his boss.

With the marriage of the Underwoods already a thing of the past, Claire appears to be determined to get what she wants and will do anything to get it at all cost, notes the Parent Herald.

Filming for Season 5 of “House of Cards” will begin very soon and Kevin Spacey said in a recent interview that there will be a lot of interesting plotlines in the TV series even with the departure of Beau Willimon because the show has retained the same writing team who never runs out of interesting ideas to make the TV series captivating.

Going the way of ‘Breaking Bad’

The mark of a good TV series is when the writers have a plan on when they exactly want it to end. It should not be based on the ratings that the show will be getting in the course of its airing.

More often, the durability of a TV series is primarily based on how well or bad it is doing in the ratings. If it’s good, expect it to last for more years and if it is bad, it should not stay on the air for so long.

It is very seldom that a TV series stays on the air for a fixed number of seasons because the writers have already done their work long before it aired on the network. Such is the case of successful TV shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones” where the producers have already mapped out the beginning and the end long before it ends.

That cannot be said however of “The Walking Dead” as it seems to be capitalizing on its popularity to extend the series, which often becomes the reason for some shows to evolve as an overbearing watch.
