‘House of Cards’ Season 4 May Draw Some Parallelism with the US Presidential Elections when the Series Premieres Next Year!

The fourth season of the American political drama TV series “House of Cards” may likely draw some parallelism with the US presidential elections when the show premieres on Netflix next year.

Showrunner Beau Willimon says that the possibility is there considering that “House of Cards” is threading on the same territory, but he said that whatever coincidences or parallelism that the TV series will have, it is not intentional.

Willimon reveals that while there will be similarities, they are obviously avoiding portraying real life politics as the time of writing for the show would not sync up with the actual presidential elections, details Enstarz.

The creator said that whatever the similarities or coincidences that “House of Cards” may have on the US presidential elections next year, those may happen basically because they are reading the same headlines like today’s American people do.

However, he assured fans and an even real life American politicians that “House of Cards” is not trying to deliberately parallel its plot with real life. Willimon said that it is just foolhardy to try because Season 4 of the TV series is being written in advance and several months before it airs on Netflix.

First Couple still together

Contrary to previous speculations a few months back that Season 4 of the popular series will see Frank and Claire Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, respectively, will start living separate lives following their blowout breakup during the Season 3 finale, latest reports now say that the First Couple shall be able to patch things up.

According to Yibada, Frank and Claire will get back together again, at least in the early episodes of Season 4.

There were previous reports that said that Claire will become Frank’s main opponent during the presidential election because she knows everything about him. If there is one person who has the power to destroy Frank, it is no other than Claire.

While the plotline does have a unique appeal because it will definitely shake up the coming episodes of “House of Cards,” the strength of the show is anchored on the marriage of the First Couple.

The showrunner said that it was important for them to show viewers that Frank and Claire, just like any other couple, do experience marital problems and also face various struggles as marriage persons do.

He said while “House of Cards” hardly focus on the relationship of the First Couple during the first two seasons, it got into the limelight during Season 3, which fans really appreciated. He said that they wanted to tell the story about the marriage of Frank and Claire and there were a lot of fans and viewers of the TV series that really appreciated their efforts on that.

Another murder?

Season 4 of “House of Cards” is still months away from its possible release early next year but rumors, speculations, and reports about its possible spoilers, plot details, and new cast members have been making the rounds on the internet as if the show will be airing pretty soon.

Of course, following the blowout breakup of Frank and Claire Underwood in the Season 3 finale, it is expected that the plot of Season 4 will revolve around their conflict considering that they are the President and the First Lady, respectively, of the United States.

Initial reports indicate that Claire, having been married to Frank for quite some time, will work on undermining his credibility before the American people as she will run against him during his attempt at re-election.

However, latest reports eventually came out to say that despite their breakup during the Season 3 finale, Claire would still remain with Frank and they will remain married but their relationship is merely for public consumption only because outside of the limelight, they will live different and separated lives.

The rumors about “House of Cards” are so many that most of them are actually contradicting one another so avid viewers no longer know which report is accurate and which is not.
