Filming for Netflix’s House of Cards Season 3 has commenced. So far the series has been shot extensively in Maryland, in an attempt to keep the plot under wrap, but this season some of the government scenes will be shot in Washington DC. There are numerous rumours on the internet, and that has got the fans excited.
The biggest rumour doing the rounds for House of Cards Season 3 is that Frank Underwood, the President of USA, played by Kevin Spacey, will be assassinated. What gave spark to this rumour was that in the original BBC version of House of Cards, Underwood’s counterpart, Francis Urquhart is assassinated.
The drama doesn’t stop there. What’s even more unreal is that he is assassinated by orders from his wife. In the British version, she hires a hitman to put an end to her husband’s life. The American viewers can’t believe that Claire Underwood could do something on these lines. She doesn’t seem cut out to kill her husband.
Many fans are of the opinion that this assassination plot might not be similar to the British version. The American version of House of Cards differs quite a bit from the British series, mostly due to the difference in the political system between these two countries. However, fans will have to wait and watch to see if something forces Claire to take such a step in House of Cards Season 3.
It is difficult for the fans to even consider that Kevin Spacey’s Underwood might be assassinated in House of Cards Season 3. He is an important part of the series, and the whole show would lose its charm without him.
There is sad news for the fans of the series. Actress Elizabeth Norment, who played the role of Nancy Kaufberger, the affectionate, loyal secretary of Underwood, will not be a part of House of Cards Season 3. She suddenly passed away on 31st October at the age of 61 and left a huge void behind.
The cast of House of Cards took to the social media to express their love and respect for her. Her absence would be greatly felt by both the star cast and viewers. There has been no official word about who will replace her.
Fans already know that the House of Cards Season 3 will focus on Russia, with Frank Underwood having tackled all this adversaries in the USA. Actress Jenna Stern, along with Kim Dickens and the Russia punk band, Pussy Riot, are speculated to be a part of this season. This season might also see Rachel Brosnahan making a comeback.
