Honda will be unveiling the all-new and third iteration of the Jazz at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The supermini is likely to be the 2016 model for the Honda Jazz, which is also the third generation design of the vehicle since it was officially introduced in 2001, notes MSN Autos.
The Honda Jazz is expected to be launched in the UK in the summer of 2015 and will immediately be made available in the Euopean markets. It is also expected to roll out to Africa, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific, where the vehicle already has a niche.
In Japan, China and North America, the vehicle is known as the Honda Fit.
Unrivalled interiors and versatility
Despite its compact look, the supermini has an unrivalled interior space and versatility that blends well with major design refinements, as well as safety and infotainment features.
Honda disclosed that the new Honda Jazz will not be built in the carmaker’s Swindon plant in the UK the way its predecessor was or the Civic and the CR-V are currently being built. The supermini will be manufactured instead in Mexico.
The Japanese carmaker’s decision to move the manufacturing of the Honda Jazz to Mexico is based on the fact that the supermini will be sharing the same platform as the new Honda HR-V, which is also being built on the same plant facility.
The all-new Honda Jazz will keep the central fuel tank design and the Magic Seats system of the current model.
What makes the latest Honda Jazz different from the current model is the fact that it would be 95 millimeters longer due mainly to its wheelbase that is now 30 millimeters longer.
Honda is proud to say that the interior passenger space of the Jazz is the best in its class. And the sufficient leg room, shoulder space, and overall headroom of the driver and the four passengers of the supermini are just hallmarks of how roomy the vehicle is amid its small look in the outside.
Recapturing the market
The Japanese carmaker actually hopes to recapture the UK market with the 2016 Honda Jazz, which slipped its grasp because of the rather uninspiring current model.
The market for supermini and compact hatchbacks is the single largest car segment in the UK and in many countries in Europe.
Honda is optimistic that its new design that incorporates the new flowing wing family face will also pull back the UK and European car enthusiasts into the direction of the 2016 Jazz.
With its 1.3-liter Honda Earth Dreams gasoline engine, fuel economy is almost certain with the all-new Jazz, which shall come with either a six-speed manual transmission or CVT semi-automatic gearboxes.
The Honda Jazz also features the Honda Connect Android-based infotainment system that allows smartphone-style pinch, swipe and tap functionality, and most of all, enable connection to the internet, keeping its driver and passengers connected even when on the road.
