Political dramas going with a female leader of the free world nowadays has gained much attention especially with the possibility of it happening in real life.
Clinton has been representing the Democrats against the Republicans’ Donald Trump in the bid for the US presidency. If Clinton does win, she will make American history as the first female president of the most powerful country in the world.
“Homeland” has been known to tackle real-life dilemmas. In previous seasons, the show featured the Middle East and Berlin issues such as ISIS and the heart of the war on terror.
Last month, Danes teased that the new POTUS will be kind of a composite of all the different candidates. Keane is a neutral politician by heart and her judgment will be tested once she takes a seat in the Oval Office.
She adds that Carrie gets along pretty well with the new Commander-in-Chief because of how she challenges the norms of politics. Danes teases fans that it will be a treat to see Carrie interacting with Keane in Season 6.
The cast and crew will start filming Season 6 very soon with the new season slated to premiere in January 2017. Showrunners are already making negotiations for the show’s Seasons 7 and 8, but Showtime has not yet confirmed anything.
