‘Homeland’ Season 6 to Contain Storylines Connected to the Upcoming US Presidential Elections

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Showtime programming President Gary Levine revealed that Quinn will indeed live and will be in Season 6, but stressed that he will never be the same again.

Levine says that Quinn will likely continue to fight for his life in the upcoming season. However, in the event that he survives, he doesn’t want to be a burden to Carrie and he will most likely tell her to forget him and move on.

Fans are also eagerly waiting to answer a slew of open-ended questions at the close of Season 5. Thankfully, showrunner Alex Gansa has appeased fans by teasing a bit of detail on what to expect for the upcoming season.

Speaking to Deadline, Gansa revealed that Mathison and the CIA will be taking up new missions and fight terrorism in the US. The executive producer says that Season 6 will be more realistic than previous seasons.

He adds some of the plots are based on real-life events and that the actions will move to New York City. After using foreign countries as backdrops for the past seasons, the team is now ready to go back to home soil and continue to fight against terrorism.

Gansa teases that the main theme of the upcoming season will be balancing civil liberties with civil security.
