He added that “Homeland” has been changing itself pretty dramatically each season which is why the TV series deserves an open-ended expiration date. Nevins said that he has been focused on getting the extension of “Homeland” for Seasons 7 and 8 and is not really asking what would happen beyond the deal.
Claire Danes and executive producer and director Lesli Linka Glatter recently joined the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Women of Homeland event in New York and they talked about what’s in store for “Homeland” Season 6.
The actress said that she does not know much about the plotlines of Season 6 but she confirmed that the writers have already turned in a few outlines. She disclosed that the next season will take place during the intermediary phase in the US where the President has been elected but has yet to assume the position.
As far as her character Carrie Mathison in the TV series is concerned, the 37-year-old actress says that she is already stateside and living with her daughter while the idea of atonement is still playing with her head.
Danes said that Carrie has accrued a lot of guilt over the years and she is still wrestling with all those thoughts. She is still taking her medicines to address her problem but she is still mentally capable.
