So now the question that remains for the show’s fans is, are they going to see Carrie returning to her position in the CIA or is she done with that chapter of her life? There is some possibility that she might come back, but it’s not very certain at the moment.
But that might detract from the goals that the producers have for the new season, which clearly involve showing Carrie in a new, different light, as a tougher version of her old self, and have her face some new challenges.
It’s possible that we might eventually see her come back, but that will probably be some time in the future. Until then, she’s on her own, or at least she can only count on the help of her new German colleagues.
On the other hand, she’ll surely find herself working with her own colleagues in one way or another, so that will bring some interesting moments to the plot. We don’t know what kinds of operations there will be that require an overlap between the different agencies, but it could make for some interesting changes in the plot of the show while it lasts. In the long run though, we expect things to return back to their old state gradually.
