Homeland Season 5 to Possibly See Carrie Coming Back to the CIA? Let’s See

One of the hottest shows on TV, “Homeland”, is coming back for its fifth season this fall – and the producers of the show might be hiding a few surprises for their fans up their sleeve, as they are likely preparing some interesting plot twists and turns for the new episodes. It’s been reported that the new season will consist of 12 episodes, and while we don’t know when exactly it’s going to air, we did hear some reports that it has already entered the filming phase of its production, so it’s likely coming in a few months.

Plus, we can look at the previous seasons and their release schedules for some possible hints, which would indicate that we can expect season 5 to air in September or October 2015. As we said above, it’s going to come with some significant changes to the formula of the show, and while those might not be completely enjoyable to all of its fans, they definitely have the potential to make the setup more interesting.

Carrie won’t be working with the CIA, at least not at first – instead, she’ll be under the wing of a private security company operating out of Berlin, and her character will be joined by several other new additions to the cast, such as Sebastian Koch who will be playing the role of Carrie’s boss in her new firm. We’ll also see Miranda Otto, Alexander Fehling and Sarah Sokolovic, playing Alison Carr, Carrie’s boyfriend and an American journalist respectively.

The overall plot direction of the show will see some changes as well, and it will no longer be so focused on the plot line involving the Islamic terrorists – the show’s producers apparently don’t want to end up focusing on the conflict between the US and the Muslim world indefinitely, and they have some other plans for the show’s plot direction.

In the end, the show’s general topic is about the foreign policy of the US above all else, as well as the face of US intelligence and the way the political landscape is changing and affecting the operation of the agency. The CIA is faced with some very difficult decisions, and this show is supposed to depict the struggles that the people in charge – and those executing their orders – have to go through.

And that’s not exclusively limited to that part of the world, so now we’re going to see the plot expanding in other directions. The CIA are going to be treating Carrie as someone in exile for the time being, and she’ll have to do her job at her new private security firm without the assistance of her old contacts and handlers.

It’s also been hinted that she will be in a rocky relationship with her new boss, and there will likely be some clash in the way they both see the world around them. It’s not just about the way Carrie will integrate herself with her boss – she’ll also have to face the reality of German intelligence and the way it’s different from its American counterpart, something which will add to the stress of her situation.

In the end, we will see a much more isolated, detached version of Carrie, someone who’ll have to struggle a lot more in order to fight her battle and push forward. But at the same time, we know the character as someone who doesn’t leave a job unfinished, and this trend is going to be continued in the new season just as well, if it’s not made even more prominent.
