Over the last ten years there has been a push on the internet for fan sites of popular television shows and that has brought the amount of spoilers and other information to the fans much faster than ever before. It gives the fans a little insight into their favorite show and helps to create buzz for any upcoming season. In most cases, the spoilers do not reveal everything about an upcoming season, so there is little damage to reading the content.
One of those popular television shows happens to be on the Showtime network and is called Homeland. According to reports, the television show is coming back for a fifth season and it will have twelve episodes for fans to watch. As it stands right now, there is no exact date that the new season is going to start, however, if you look back at the previous years, the show premiered in October of each of them.
If you are not familiar with the show, you should now that the cast consists of actress Claire Danes as a CIA agent, Damian Lewis as a Congressman, Mandy Patinkin as Claire’s mentor and Morena Baccarin as a wife trying to get things back to normal in her life. Those are followed by about ten other main characters with at last twelve recurring characters on the show over the last four seasons. Homeland first started back in 2011 with twelve episodes and it was determined that was a good number.
The fourth season of the show presented Claire’s character as a CIA agent that was working in Kabul as she adventured after a suspected terrorist target in Pakistan. With tips from others and other intel, the CIA agent orders an airstrike that does more than kill the main target and that is where the drama starts for Claire’s character, Carrie. After that she is recalled to the United States and there is doubt about her ability to make the right call. In the meantime, Quinn, played by Rupert Friend, is an assassin for the CIA and is ready to take missions into his own hands.
Towards the end of the fourth season, Quinn accepts a mission that is considered dangerous in Syria and that is the last you see of him. Now that the fifth season is being filmed right now in Germany, there is some fan speculation that Quinn could end up dead in the upcoming season. The fifth season is reportedly taking place about two years after the fourth and has Carrie removed from the CIA as an agent and now working with a security firm. Early reports indicated that the show will be ready for the television by October of this year.
