Speaking from her experience, “Lizzie McGuire” star Hilary Duff says that people are not meant to be together forever.
Duff has officially filed the divorce papers last month with her estranged husband Mike Comrie after almost five years of marriage. The 27-year-old actress admits that her view of marriage has drastically changed after what she has gone through.
Unlike before when she was still young and believe that a couple once married are bound to stay together forever, Hilary feels that it is not meant to be that way because fight always happens in a long relationship, details Yahoo! Celebrity.
In a recent interview with Cosmo magazine for its April issue, Hilary Duff said that she is not bitter at all with what happened to her and her marriage. She adds that those who have stayed together for 20 years must have huge sacrifices to stay that way. She feels that it is such a huge accomplishment.
On her part, she says that she only wants to fight for happiness. The “Lizzie McGuire” actress stresses that what good is a marriage if the persons in it are no longer happy.
Started young in love
Hilary Duff disclosed that she and former husband Mike Comrie started being in love at young ages and they felt then that they wanted to get married.
She says that as a child actress who started working at age 11, Hilary said that making the choice in love at that time felt right for her because her eyes got opened to the realities of life and love at a tender age.
After she and Mike fell in love, they spent majority of their time together because they really felt happy with one another. But when they got married, they both found out that the relationship was not working well enough for the two of them to say together, she added.
Hilary says that there is still a lot of love involved between the two of them, notwithstanding that they also have a son together. But the fact that they were not meant to stay together forever eventually set upon them rather belatedly that’s why the need to part ways.
Enjoying being single
Even though they were estranged, Hilary and Mike were often seen last year dating along with their son. They event spent vacation together. Many were actually expecting that they will get back together again.
Hilary only filed for divorce last month after reports of a recent wild partying by Mike Comrie in Los Angeles where he was seen to be hitting with waitresses of a club.
The actress, who’s also a singer, is currently enjoying her life being single. She also released her latest song titled “All About You” which was inspired by her love life.
She says that she wrote the song for a reason and she enjoyed writing it. Hilary says that writing the song was kind of freeing for her and also a bit of an awakening. She says that people should have something to fall back on every time they get to a hump in their lives.
