Apart from The Night Of, HBO also needs to bring back Nic Pizzolatto’s True Detective for the third season. The top brass at HBO has spoken up about The Night Of and True Detective. They want both the shows to be back on their network.
However, they have learned a lesson with True Detective Season 2. The series that was such a huge success in the first season didn’t fare well at all in the second season since the network bosses pushed Pizzolatto to wrap up his writing within a stipulated time.
HBO realized that if they want the series to be successful, they will have to give the creators enough time to work things out. With the creators of The Night Of working on Season 2, HBO is giving them all the time they need to get the second season ready.
