Creators Steven Zaillian and Richard Price said that they are planning and working out ideas for Season 2 of The Night Of. The crime drama saw a successful run in their opening season, and Zaillian feel that they have what it takes to make things happen for a second season.
Casey Bloys knows that Zaillian and Price are capable of working to come up with a great plan. He is confident that the creators would come back to HBO for Season 2 of The Night Of if they work something out.

Reports suggest that the setting for the second chapter will be same as the first. Bloys went on to make it clear that the story wouldn’t be shifting to Chicago or any other city. He even informed that some similar faces would be back to maintain the continuity. Rumor suggests that John Torturro will reprise the role of John Stone in Season 2 of The Night Of.
The Night Of Season 1 opens with Nasir Khan (Riz Ahmed), a Pakistani-American student who rides his father’s cab to attend a party. He meets a woman called Andrea and the two end up spending the night together. Things take an unfortunate turn when Naz wakes up the following morning to find Andrea stabbed to death. He doesn’t have any memory of the previous night.
He ends up at the police station because of a traffic ticket when the police find a knife matching the murder weapon in his pocket. Naz is interrogated by the police when he asks for a lawyer. He isn’t provided with one until John Stone decides to step in on his behalf.
It was a critically acclaimed series and was considered one of the best shows on television. It had an average viewership of over 7 million viewers across the world. The number of on-line audience in the UK crossed 2.5 million. The viewers increased towards the finale since the series became gripping.
The Night Of has a superb team of creators. Richard Price is known for the Clockers while Steven Zaillian is known for Schindler’s List. Zaillian had also directed all the episodes except one in the first season of The Night Of.
