Amid their renewed taste of superstardom given the success of their fourth studio album aptly titled “Four,” the British-Irish boy band One Direction is continuously being hounded by rumors of its impending split.
There have been reports that one member has been trying to deal with drug abuse problem; some reports say that one member can no longer bear the rigors of the schedule of arguably the world’s most popular boy band today; and still some reports indicate that one or two members want to go solo.
Harry Styles is one member of 1D that has long been rumored to be planning to go on solo career although the former boyfriend of Taylor Swift has neither confirmed nor denied those speculations.
By solo, most of his fans were thinking that he might possibly go on a solo singing career, notwithstanding his superb vocal talents.
Going solo on acting?
Now, it turns out that Harry is not planning to go solo on a music career but possibly a solo acting career in Hollywood.
The Daily Mail just got wind of information that the 20-year-old 1D singer has recently met with veteran film producer Harvey Weinstein, to discuss the possibility of Harry venturing into acting. And not just acting in ordinary movies, the film producer is said to be eyeing Harry to play lead roles in possible Hollywood blockbuster movies.
The 62-year-old Weinstein confirmed his meeting with Styles and he said that Harry has the right mold to become a Hollywood actor because aside from being super-charismatic, the One Direction singer is said to be very interested in crossing over to the film business from the music industry.
The studio film executive also disclosed that his company has already offered Harry an acting part for a film but apparently the singer cannot do the movie just yet because One Direction has a tour and he has contractual obligations to perform.
Lucrative career
Weinstein added that he also learned from Harry how much he and One Direction is getting from their tour and simply bemused how much money the group is making, and thus cannot simply turn back from their obligations.
As a matter of fact, One Direction’s stadium tour in 2014 called “Where We Are” became the highest grossing concert tour of all time, hauling in a cool $272 million besting the concert tour earning records held by Justin Timberlake’s $178.45 million and Rolling Stone’s $160.3 million.
The meeting between Weinstein and Harry Styles in Hollywood was further confirmed by other sources when the 1D singer was recently seen at Los Angeles airport being escorted by security without his bandmates.
Will the decision of Harry Styles to go into acting speed up the likely splitting of One Direction? Chances are, the decision would come after One Direction is through with their contractual obligations toward the end of this year. Only then would Harry Styles decide to finally go into acting. And by that time, One Direction members may have gone to various directions already.
