Hannibal season 3 has just come to a close and according to the buzz you can read on the internet, it might have been one of the best seasons in television history. If you have not seen Hannibal, you should know that it is considered a psychological thriller-horror series that is developed for NBC by Bryan Fuller. Once you get into the show, you will quickly realize that it has been based on the “Red Dragon” book about Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
The first season of the show brought thirteen episodes, which most will do these days, and it was quickly called a masterpiece and a show that could draw millions of fans from around the world. The next two seasons are also thirteen episodes each and that seems to be just enough time to get the story across to the audience. Even though the show has been getting very positive reviews, it had low ratings and because of that, NBC decided to pull the plug on it after this season.
That was just a few days ago and now fans of the show are wondering if they are ever going to see the show on television again. The performances of the lead actor and the overall style of the show has been highlighted during reviews that have been posted online. The show ended with Will Graham, the FBI agent that is setup to work with Dr. Hannibal Lecter, becoming something that many did not believe he was. Hannibal just wanted people that he met to be themselves and act on their natures.
The Red Dragon book was followed very closely for the first three seasons, but in the finale, the show took that content a different direction that might have surprised some fans. The worst part about the show being cancelled is the fact that fans are now wanting more due to the direction the show took and now they will not be able to get more. For those that are deep into the show, you could quickly see that it was not about a serial killer.
The movie was strong on that tone and most of the viewers could get that, but according to the creator of Hannibal, the television show was built around the friendship that comes along between the FBI agent and the serial killer himself. Both of the characters found reasons to live on only through the interaction between them. One online source claimed that the last season ended just perfectly. Even though Hannibal deserved more television time, sometimes the ratings speak louder than the voice of the fans. The end of the third season brought to close a satisfying tale according to some.
