Yes, we are sure that Halo 5 Guardians is coming, but we do not know the exact date of launch, yet. There was much speculation about the game being released on 10th November, 2015, following a tweet, but sadly dear fans, it’s not true.
After Michael Cavanaugh, Prima Games author and eSports Halo coach tweeted a photo of himself inside 343 Industries. There was much excitement and celebration among Halo fans. Behind Cavanaugh in the photo was a countdown clock that had the number “382”.
Fans on the social media site were sure that this was the countdown to the release of Halo 5: Guardians. Halo has previously launched Combat Evolved, Halo 2 and Halo 4 in the first half of November. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also expected to release early next month. With November being the month for the release of all Halo titles, “382” created a major buzz.
This happiness and speculation was however short-lived, because soon enough Microsoft said that the speculations on the internet are false.
At E3 2013, Microsoft Studios, the publishers of the Halo series, said that they had included an untitled part to the franchise. Microsoft Studios’ Corporate Vice President, Phil Spencer, said that they do not want to restrict the “Reclaimer Trilogy”. They have a plan to extend it to a long series of games. The game they thought was too popular to restrict it to a trilogy.
Halo is a first person shooter and is well-known in the military science fiction, first-person shooter genre of video gaming. It was initially developed by Bungie but is now managed and developed by 343 Industries.
The game deals with an interstellar war between humans and a theocratic alliance of aliens called the Covenant. The Covenant, are led by their leaders, known as Prophets. Halo focuses on the experiences of Master Chief John-117, a super soldier.
Bonnie Ross from 343 Industries confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians will be available exclusively on the Xbox One. It is expected to run at 60 frames per second. Departing from the traditional Xbox 360 hardware, would allow 343 Industries to broaden the scope of the game. It would also allow them to utilize the gaming console’s dedicated servers.
Frank O’Connor, Halo’s development director, said that Halo 4 tested Xbox’s game engine to its ultimate limit. It was then that the developers at 343 Industries decided that Halo 5 will have to be created for the Xbox One with superior gameplay. The game was so popular that the developers tied-up with graphic novels, merchandise and other licensed product manufacturers.
