We currently have no timeframe for any future update releases, but we expect that 343 Industries will be quick to get people hyped up once they have something in the pipeline. The studio enjoys their communication with fans quite a lot, and they frequently make use of that channel to raise interest in their next update.
Some fans are still expressing a slight disappointment with the overall direction of “Halo 5”, and even though they are in a minority, they still seem to be mostly comprised of old-school fans of the original “Halo” games – so their opinion should most certainly count for something.
To them, the franchise has taken a turn in an unexpected direction that nobody really asked for, and while the majority of people playing the game are actually happy with its current state, there are some who see it as something that’s only “Halo” in its name.
That’s probably inevitable for a franchise that has gone through such a long running period though, and considering how much other developers have changed their own products over years – and how many fans have been left disappointed in such situations – “Halo” players should probably be happy with the current state of affairs. Whether or not that situation will be maintained for the next release in the series is a different question, but of course it’s far too early to make any predictions in this direction, and fans should focus on “Halo 5” at the moment.
