While Marvel Studios has yet to confirm reports that there would be a fourth installment to the very successful “Iron Man” movie franchise, there have already been speculations since last year about “Iron Man 4” which focused basically on whether actor Robert Downey Jr. would be back on it or not.
There have been reports going around early this year that because of his very expensive talent fee, having been listed by Forbes last year as the world’s highest paid actor, it is unlikely that Robert Downer Jr. would be back to reprise his role as Tony Stark and Iron Man.
As early as late last year, there have already been reports that Marvel is looking for a younger actor who shall have an important role in assuming the legacy of Tony Stark.
Speculations also have it that 13-year-old actor Ty Simpkins, who played Harley Skeener in “Iron Man 3,” will be the next cast member who shall don the “Iron Man” suit.
Previous reports cited that the young actor shall take the place of Tony Stark in “Iron Man 4” which was rather absurd as it will disturb the plotline. The time element of the movie would simply not make sense at all.
Contrary to previous notions, it is possible that Harley Skeener would don the suit of Iron Man after Tony Stark. Now, that’s a better “Iron Man 4” plot to build on. Harley will then just continue Stark’s legacy as Iron Man.
Actually, even Ty Simpkins, during an interview in December, sort of explained such scenario when he said that should things really worked out, he would not be playing the exact same role of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark but someone who is close to the role.
Pepper Potts on the way out
Recent reports from the Christian Post said that Gwyneth Paltrow’s character from the ‘Iron Man” franchise, Ms. Pepper Potts, would also have her last appearance on “Iron Man 4.”
This could be an indication also that Robert Downey Jr. would no longer be back for the fourth installment of the franchise as pairing Ms. Potts with Harley Skeener would really be awkward.
Since Harley Skeener would take over the suit of Tony Stark, then Ms. Potts, as the latter’s right hand woman and lover, would become an odd person in the movie.
There have been reports about the plot of “Iron Man 4,” indicating that Ms. Potts would likely die in it. Although she has been into numerous near-death situations in the past “Iron Man” movies, her luck will finally run out on her in “Iron Man 4.”
In “Iron Man 3,” Ms. Potts was made a test subject by a villainous group that prompted Tony Stark to contract Extemis powers.

I’m actually glad Pepper Potts might be killed off in Iron Man 4. Pepper is a really annoying character. It’s not like anyone found Gwyneth Paltrow’s character appealing.
What the f*** I this man!!! I’m a big fan to iron man and big fan of Robert Downey jr. How the hell could they replace Robert with a child. I don’t care wat his name is. I’m don’t care abt Pepper ‘s character but Robert has to be in the movie. Dude u marvel people made such high budget films like Avengers, cant u jst afford Robert. I’m not gonna watch im4 if Robert is not in it. Curse u all!!!!!?
