After Beauty and the Beast and Fast 8, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 currently holds the title of being the third most viewed title in history. Hence, it would not be too far-fetched an assumption, if we say that fans are expecting a lot from Gunn and his cast.
The good news is that from the looks of the praises that Chris Pratt had to sing about Guardians of the Galaxy 2, the movie appears to be able to deliver. During an appearance, recently at SiriusXM for The Jess Cagle Interview, the actor had some pretty nice things to say.
He was heard saying that the movie is much better and bigger than its predecessor ever was, and is so in every way thinkable. Pratt also added that such words supported a lot of compliment for this second part, because according to him, the first part was really good.
While showering James Gunn with credits for the movie, he said that James Gunn is the “auteur” and that he is the main man responsible for the movie culminating into existence.
Chris Pratt said that James Gunn wrote and directed the film, both the first as well as the second one. He said that Guardian of the Galaxy 2, is in its entirety, his vision. According to Pratt, James Gunn is unparalleled in Hollywood.
Chris Pratt didn’t just stop there with the compliments; he also added that he feels that James Gunn is the best that he has worked for and alongside, and he is indebted to him hugely. He said in the interview that James Gunn knows the characters from the movie very deeply and well.
With the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, being just five months away from its release, fans are fishing for clues and hints about the movie which Chris Pratt might have slipped in by mistake in the interview.
So, when asked about the movie, Chris replied that he doesn’t feel like commenting at all about the movie, in fear of diluting even a speck of suspense. He is confident that the movie is capable enough; to have generated sufficient interest, to force the fans of its franchise to hit the theaters and see it.
However, he was kind enough to let the fans know that apart from being fun, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is also steeped in some genuinely deep emotion; so much so that while Chris Pratt read the script he had cried.
Chris Pratt also mentioned and thanked the heavens that James Gunn was at the helm of this movie and no one else, for no one else could have done the movie justice apart for him.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is penned down and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, together with Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula.

As the voice of Groot, Vin Diesel (Furious 7); Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and last but not the least in any sense, Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
Chris Pratt has nothing except love for Guardians of the Galaxy, but he’ll be the first to tell you also that the movie is about to be outbid by its sequel.
