Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular video game franchises in history. This year, one of the hottest releases in the gaming world is Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA V) and now that it has been selling for a little while, it is time to start thinking about the next version.
The very popular, open world, role playing games is about to get an online version so you can enjoy all of the great adventures with your friends and strangers alike. The amount of information that has been released about GTA VI is quite limited, but you can be rest assured that all of that information is taken in by the loyal gamers that have been playing the game since it first showed up. When GTA 5 was released, Rockstar earned more than $1 billion in the first three days it was for sale and that is what would be expected for the next version.
What is the release date for GTA 6? Well, if you look back on the history of release dates for the games, you will see that the original version was released back in 1997, then the second in 1999 and the third in 2001, or every other year. Since then however, it was almost 7 years until the the fourth version hit the shelves and another 5 before the latest was being sold to just about everyone.
Does that mean you should be expecting to see the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto by the year 2018? A betting man would certainly look closely at that number based on the history alone. Take note that would be the main game and does not mean that Rockstar would not put out another game that would be considered more of an expansion to the main game.
Developers claim they have more than 45 years worth of content to bring to happy gamers all over the world, so there should be no reason the franchise would just stop. Other rumors about the sixth version include things like a female main character, which would be a change, a brand new city to cruise around in, more adventure added to keep things fresh and interesting, more housing, more vehicles to choose from and the ability to customize the main character.
Of course, these rumors are being passed around as an all around wish list be those that are crossing their fingers that even 1 of them is on the actual update list. GTA 6 should be just as popular, if not even more popular when it hits the stores just based on the historical sales alone.
