The most important detail for the majority of fans – the release date – remains a mystery. Most rumors claim that we’ll have to wait until at least 2018 to see “GTA 6”, and knowing Rockstar, that may even be an optimistic prediction. They don’t really have any motivation to rush anyway, as their position on the market is perfectly stable thanks to their recent releases.
Plus, the studio is going to be quite busy with their work on “Red Dead Redemption 2” for now, which is another factor that’s going to play a significant role in the development of “GTA 6”. Of course, there may not be that much overlap between the teams working on the two games, but it could still be significant enough to have an effect.
It’s definitely not a bad thing that “Red Dead Redemption 2” is going to hit the market before “GTA 6” though, as the studio will be able to learn a lot from its release and incorporate it into their newest game. Especially if they follow fan discussions actively, which they have shown that they usually do.
We fully expect to see some of the new ideas developed in the Western game fleshed out in more detail in “GTA 6”, as the different games of the studio tend to constantly borrow things from one another. Still, there is some time left until we see what those ideas might be, and gamers will have plenty of chances to discuss the possible implications once “Red Dead Redemption 2” is out.
