It should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following the situation around “GTA 6” that fans are still actively engaging in discussions about the game, even though there has been no official confirmation for anything related to it. We still don’t know what the plot, setting or gameplay are going to look like – and while there’s no shortage of rumors on the horizon, making out the plausible ones from the rest can be a bit tricky.
One of the more interesting claims we’ve heard recently is that the game might see some celebrities performing in it, including none other than Ryan Gosling, who could be voicing a main character. While Gosling himself is yet to comment on the rumors, some have pointed out that the actor does have a great-sounding voice for a role like this, and he could easily be one of the perfect candidates for it.
There have also been reports that the new game could feature a female protagonist, changing the theme from previous installments. It’s not clear if there will still be more than one main characters like in “GTA 5”, and it would definitely not be a bad idea, looking at how well it was implemented in the previous game.
If it’s true that Ryan Gosling will be voicing a main character though, this does imply a multi-protagonist setup. Unfortunately, it’s hard to decipher the current rumors in more detail, and they are a bit conflicting in general, so we wouldn’t put too much trust in them for the time being.
Looking at the situation realistically, it’s probably safe to assume that the majority of plans for the game are not set in stone yet, and the studio is probably still looking at things from a very general perspective. That makes it hard to believe some of the things that have been going around about “GTA 6”, as they would imply that Rockstar are actually already quite far ahead in their development.
For now, the studio seems mostly focused on “GTA 5”, even though the work on that game has mostly died down at this point. Players are still playing it actively and it makes perfect sense for Rockstar to support it as well, but unfortunately this also means that they likely don’t have the ability to dedicate too many development resources to “GTA 6” right now.
Even if they were already working on “GTA 6”, it makes sense that they would keep quiet about it for now. The studio is known for their secretive approach to their development, and they usually hold off on releasing new information until they’re absolutely sure they’re ready for the world to see their work. And knowing how slow they tend to work in general, it will probably be a while before we see anything on the official front, including even a small hint. It could actually be several years from now!
But that’s fine, as long as the final product lives up to the quality standards we’ve come to know Rockstar for. The studio is very diligent in putting finishing touches and fine details on their games, and we’re sure that by the time they’re ready to announce “GTA 6”, they will have something substantial to present to the world already. It won’t be just a series of teasers, screenshots and the occasional interview, judging by their past trends.
