“GTA 5” is one of the hottest games on the market, while on the other hand “GTA 6” is one of the most speculated ones. It’s definitely true that people love to talk about the yet unannounced sequel, and even though it will likely be a long time before we even hear any official information about it, it’s still a hot topic on many forums and people love to discuss the possible changes that could come with this title.
It looks like many fans are just doing it for the sake of the fun discussions and arguments and not so much because they are convinced that they actually know what’s going to happen with the game. It is indeed to follow those conversations and look at what people are saying and thinking, and it’s a curious insight into the way the community of the game’s fans think.
It’s probably just as interesting for Rockstar themselves to keep an eye on those discussions too, as the studio could probably learn a thing or two from the things people are saying and this could help them define the direction of the next game more clearly. Currently, there are rumors that the studio is not actively developing the game but they are definitely planning it in the background, so they could probably use some of the ideas that people keep talking about.
For the most part, the discussions are focused on three main points: the game’s setting, its protagonist(s), and of course its release date. On the first point, there are numerous different theories right now, with fans believing anything from a completely fictional new location, to a game that takes the player around the world through many different places in real-life towns.
On the other hand, people also talk quite a lot about what the game could do with its protagonist, especially after we saw “GTA 5” and the interesting changes that came with it in this regard. That game truly redefined the way the franchise works in terms of the player interacting with his character and the environment, and it would be interesting to see if Rockstar want to advance that idea any further in the new title.
Fans also want to see a female protagonist in the new game and that’s also something that Rockstar could want to consider if they want to make it even more interesting, and it sounds like that idea could work particularly well when combined with the idea of multiple playable characters. It could expand the story in new directions as a female protagonist could certainly be presented in an interesting light in the typical style of the “GTA” franchise.
Last but not least, when is the game coming out? Speculations on this topic vary greatly, as can be expected, and fans don’t seem to have any concrete ideas about the release date planned by Rockstar. In all likelihood, the studio probably doesn’t actually have a release date planned right now so all of those speculations could turn out to be false.
One of the things that are pretty certain right now is that the game will not be available on old generation consoles – the PS3 and Xbox 360. While “GTA 5” managed to work on that hardware, even that was a significant push by the studio and at this point it’s guaranteed that they won’t be able to get the next game on those consoles if they don’t want to cut any content from it.
